A postcard inspired these brooches in aluminium. It is an old postcard with an image of lilies printed on the front. They are semi-translucent and float against a black background. They are mysterious to me and I have tried to retain this aspect in the work. Elements of the image are combined to create a new form - one which still refers to the original source, but which is also becoming something else. Besides this, I am exploring scale, line, materiality, how each element relates to the other, and how each work relates to the other.
