Commemorative Australian crockery provided me with inspiration for the 'Unremarkable Tourist Destinations' series. This series explores just what can be commemorated. Rather than iconic tourist destinations, I have chosen to commemorate the more unremarkable ones - the ones signposted in brown and white as you drive around country Victoria. I have used my own photos of unremarkable tourist destinations such the Guilford Tool Museum and the Harrietville Pioneer Monument to create decals which are fired onto enamelled surfaces. I am commemorating the local, quirky and mundane.
